Trattoria i Trulli is located along the coast highway in downtown Encinitas. I can smell the aroma of great italian food as I am writing. Open every day of the week for lunch and dinner gives you flexibility as to when you can dine. The menu has the traditional food you would expect at an italian restaurant but they also have daily specials with seasonal vegetables, catch of the day and chef specialties. The restaurant has  a cozy atmosphere with close knit tables and seating outside. If you aren't too full try one of the house desserts.

Orange Blossom Hair Salon

I recently had my hair cut & colored at a Orange Blossom Salon in Encinitas.

I read a great Yelp review on the salon and wasn't disappointed. The salon is clean, welcoming & adorable.

There are vintage touches everywhere including old travel suitcases at everyone's station to hold hair products.

Dana was my stylist. She listened to what I wanted and my hair was above and beyond! I will definitely be scheduling another appointment.

Beautiful pesticide free fruits and veggies, homemade breads, guacamole, salsas and the "Impeccable" pickles are to die for.
Next door is the place for flowers and succulents. You can choose bouquets or plantings in cute containers. My destination a few times a week!

The Hospice Thrift Store is located at 278 N El Camino Real in Encinitas. All the proceeds benefit terminally ill patients and their families. The people that work there volunteer their time every week to a great cause.
It is a clean, well organized place to shop. You will find racks of clothing, dishware, furniture, jewelry, vintage treasures and more... There is always a color ticket marked half price.

Grandview Beach in Encinitas

Grandview Beach is at the northern tip in the city of Leucadia/Encinitas. It is tucked back in one of the cities "beachy" neighborhoods at the end of Neptune. On busy days you will need to find street parking and walk in because the public parking lot fills up fast. It is worth the walk! Great spot for families, surfers, walkers, etc. A grand staircase leads down to the beach where there a is shower (no restrooms available).

My daughter and I recently found Platypus Kid's  Resale shop in Encinitas. She had outgrown playing with dolls and wanted to sell her accumulation of American Girl stuff. After checking out all of the inventory the owner gave my daughter a check on the spot. The store was filled with clothes, books, shoes and anything else you would need for your child. They also have toddler classes, etc.

Date night in Encinitas

Living in Encinitas there are lots of great choices for a date night. We chose the 3rd corner wine shop and bistro because of the off the radar wine choices with great prices. You can shop for your bottle in the store and bring it to your table (just a $5 corkage fee).

It was a warm summer evening so we chose to sit outside on the patio. Inside there is a cozy bar that was bustling with happy people who thought ahead to take advantage of the happy hour. 

I chose the mussels with the truffle fries which went great with our french bottle of wine. Our waiter and the rest of the staff gave great service. We can't wait until our next date!

The library is one of the perks living in the city of Encinitas. Don't let the sleek design fool you. The building provides you with the feeling of belonging the second you walk in the front door. There are plenty of computers to use or bring your own, the WIFI is free.
